Aug 31: The Tamil Nadu government today suspended Anna University (Coimbatore) Vice Chancellor Dr R Radhakrishnan, following allegations of corruption against him. The state advocate general P S Raman informed the Madras high court of the suspension. the court had sought the views of the government on the matter and whether a FIR had been filed. Recording the submission made by Raman, a division bench, comprising Chief Justice H L Gokhale and Justice D Murugesan disposed of a petition filed by an advocate S Sivapandi, charging the Vice Chancellor with allegedly violating provisions of the University Act and accumulating wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income, among other things. – Agencies
Anna University, Coimbatore made lot of changes in the policies related to affiliation and education across the division. Some agency sources say there has been 73+ charges filed against Dr. R RadhaKrishnan (Unconfirmed Report). Anyhow, it appears like the rulers are working hard to get the corruption completely out of the education domain. Hoping for the best !
