Facebook Never Removes your Credit Card Completely

Facebook, the word that rules the Tech world currently which also launched its IPO to public, getting User Privacy related issues is not new at all. Today morning when i logged into my Facebook account i found “Facebook Promote Button” in DailyTUT page and started to explore what it can do actually. I found my credit card details which i entered long back and i remember that i have removed it after my Ad Campaign tasks were done.

Bit shocked, and it proves that Facebook never deletes even Financial records entered by the users.

Their new Promote service pulls the deleted Credit Card information from the database and this makes me to question the level of Privacy that Facebook offers to its users.

I wrote an article about “How to Remove Credit Card Details from Facebook” but after seeing the deleted details reflecting on their new service, i find the method they offer to remove credit card information is totally useless. I am about to forward this matter to Facebook Security Team and expecting a reply from them which i will be updating with this post.

No Privacy for Facebook Advertisers ?

The social networking giant totally depends on its Advertisement platform and wants every business owners and marketers to use Facebook Ads. Which requires Credit Card information added to their account in order to start the advertising process. When facebook stores the financial information entered by the user permanently, then if some web attack happens on facebook, then we should be ready to loose our Credit Card details as well. Attacks on Facebook is not at all a new one.

It happened an year ago where millions of user data revealed to the public and made available to download via Torrents as well. Just google the same if you unaware of such issues.

Wondering how new advertisers will feel free to enter their financial details when Facebook is not ready to provide security to their information.

    1. Hello Roheen Fatima, Do not send any pictures or accept any stranger requests in Facebook and Skype. Make sure you report those fake facebook profiles using your original account. Facebook will take quick action to remove those accounts almost in less than an hour time.

Tweak your Facebook Privacy settings to protect your posts, friend requests and friends and others (https://www.dailytut.com/social-networking/hide-friends-list-facebook-friends-everyone.html). Else they may download your friends list and disturb them too.

Take care and let us know here if you need any further assistance.

      Robin.
