Oracle has released a security update to fix the vulnerability found in java last week. Homeland security has warned its users to disable java from computer and web browser to prevent the computer being infected with some malicious codes. The hacker can use this vulnerability to infect computers just by making some one to visit the website. We do have steps explaining how to disable java from your firefox, google chrome, safari and internet explorer web browser to avoid such trouble.

    Alternative to Java ?

But it is not possible to be without java all the time. Many essential applications and software that we use today requires java very much. Apple has remotely disabled java on maximum computers after the security threat announcement. Homeland security has sent another announcement saying that permanently disabling java will be the best security practice and recommendation to all users as there are still chances of security risks even after oracle released a fix for the recent vulnerability.

The only option left is disable java from firefox, chrome and other web browsers. if possible do uninstall java from the computer also to prevent any such remote compromise and other hacking scenarios. We really need some alternatives for Java right now or Oracle should come up with a better and secure version of java to protect the users (almost the world computers) from these security threats.
