KeymasterApple announced Apple Music Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio to their entire music catalog. But it’s not possible to stream Lossless ALAC audio through AirPods, Pro and Max headphones even. So many have a doubt, whether Apple EarPods support Lossless Audio as its Wired Headphone?
Answer is “No”.
Apple EarPods are not going to support both Spatial Audio and Lossless Audio as per apple’s list of compatible devices. Also, HomePods are not getting the lossless audio either. There is no mention about Apple TV, but apple tv is dolby atmos capable, so I think it will come when its officially announced.
Technically, we read that wired headphones are required to experience Apple Music Lossless Audio and people start to think, that EarPods is the only headphone they have with wired setup. Unfortunately, even the latest AirPods Max with wires connected will not support Lossless Audio.
Apple brings Spatial Audio to H1, W1 Processor embedded AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max headphones. They mentioned that Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos will come to few thousands of existing music collection initially and it will be increased over the next few months.
But the lossless audio (ALAC) is coming to entire 75 million songs present in Apple Music Catalog. That definitely triggers many who have recently purchased AirPods Pro or AirPods Max. Wondering why their expensive headphones not supporting some new feature that Apple announces shortly?.
Well, Bluetooth 5.0 wirelessly still have its own limitations. and Apple Music lossless audio playback is still not possible to air through wirelessly.
Even with wired setup, it needs DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) to let you experience the exact same audio that was recorded by the musicians in their studio.
Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos is definitely going to change the way you listen to music in your AirPods. Its going to be lot better when you personally experience the enhanced music playback. So, what do you think about the all new Apple Music Spatial Audio and Lossless audio coming to your iPhone, iPad and Mac?.
