Facebook addressed few important issues with its Facebook App for iPhone that caused Battery Drain problem. iOS 9 Battery usage reports are very useful and for most of the iPhone users running iOS 9 clearly see Facebook at the top of the list always. I have uninstalled Facebook App from my iPhone for couple of weeks and able to see good improvement in battery life.
App development team at Facebook have found the main reasons for battery drain problem with facebook app on iPhone, caused by “Near by Friends” and “Audio” component which was using CPU and Location feature all the time even when not necessary.
Facebook finally squashed these bugs to free up the unwanted CPU Spin and Audio usage. The update rolled out yesterday globally to all iPhone users and it will take atleast a week time to see the result. Make sure you have updated Facebook App on your iPhone via App Store.
