There is no need of introduction to facebook spam messages, and the latest one that is spreading like a wild fire on facebook is “Get Free $200 Amazon Gift Card (Limited Time Only)” Spam message. Avoid clicking or sharing such links on your newsfeed, this will let more of your friends and followers to check out and share the same message on their wall as well. This message is clearly a facebook spam that collects traffic for a website myhotgifts.com.
After clicking on the image or link shared by your friend, it takes you to a website with a countdown saying how many people claimed the $200 amazon gift card. Avoid falling for this type of spam messages blindly and stop sharing or performing any actions suggested by such websites or facebook apps.
You can fight against facebook spam messages by filing a report and letting facebook spam team know about such messages. To file a spam report, click on the down arrow at top right corner of that particular post, then select “Report Post -> Its Spam” and click continue to finish the reporting. You may also block the person who shared that message or unfollow the apps to stop receiving further notification if shared by any other friends from your friends list.
Thanks for reading and have a great day.
