After some leaks and rumors about Kaspersky Developing its own secure operating system, here we have official announcement and release from Kaspersky Team. KasperskyOS for Internet of Things (IoT) and Embedded Systems is developed from scratch and it is not just another Linux based Operating System. Kaspersky team has developed it from scratch to fit with its own set of applications and programs.

The ultimate aim is to create a secure operating system that is safe from common vulnerabilities and exploits. Recent increase in the hacking incidents and cyber attacks targeting security cameras, household appliances and other IoT Devices, KasperskyOS will guarantee better safety and performance on the same type of hardware.

We decided to design the system so as to be relevant in different spheres, allowing customization on a granular level, based on application. Basically, we created three products. They are: an OS (KOS), a standalone secure hypervisor (KSH), and a dedicated system for secure interaction among OS components (KSS). They can address various challenges on their own too, depending on the application.

There is a big hope and expectation for KasperskyOS to claim its own space in the world of IoT and Embedded Systems. We have to wait for another year or two and see how the manufacturers are bringing more devices into the market with KaskperskyOS Installed.

What do you think about this big addition in the world of security? Feel free to share this post and drop your replies below. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day.
