Google Ad Network Doubleclick and Zedo Ad Agency served malware embedded advertisements to its users last night. Researchers at malwarebytes noticed strange behavior on sites like Last.fm. Many other sites also behaved very unusual and started to set off antivirus software warnings and raising flags in various computers at malwarebytes. Researchers later found that the problem origin is Google Ad Network that was serving malicious advertisements identified as Zemot Malware.
This is not the first time that malware served through Ad Networks. But this time they targeted wide range and infected millions of windows computers world wide. Zemot Malware removal tools are not yet available but the infected PCs were running mostly outdated antivirus software. It is very important to keep the antivirus software updated with latest virus signature database.
Zemot malware is pretty advanced and powerful. It can infect Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers as well. So it is highly recommended to install best antivirus software and make sure such malware infections are prevented before entering your computers. We will update this post when zemot malware fix or removal tools released.
