OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update Arrived, New Features and Security Fixes

    Apple has rolled out iOS 7.0.6 update couple of days ago to all iOS devices silently to address gotofail bug, which would let hackers to monitor your iPhone, iPad web activity when connected to Public WiFi Networks. This huge security bug also spotted in OS X including the latest release Mavericks. It was a big disappointment for Mac users world wide and apple didnt mention any timeline when the next update will come to fix this security issue, but apple spokesperson said that the team is working to address this problem and soon we can expect an update.

    Here we have the OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 update which fixes security issues and adds some new features as well. They are,

    • Improves VoiceOver navigation in Mail and Finder
    • Improves VoiceOver reliability when navigating websites
    • Improves compatibility with Gmail Archive mailboxes
    • Includes improvements to Gmail labels
    • Improves Safari browsing and Software Update installation when using an authenticated web proxy
    • Fixes an issue that could cause the Mac App Store to offer updates for apps that are already up to date
    • Improves the reliability of diskless NetBoot service in OS X Server
    • Fixes braille driver support for specific HandyTech displays
    • Resolves an issue when using Safe Boot with some systems
    • Improves ExpressCard compatibility for some MacBook Pro 2010 models
    • Resolves an issue which prevented printing to printers shared by Windows XP
    • Resolves an issue with Keychain that could cause repeated prompts to unlock the Local Items keychain
    • Fixes an issue that could prevent certain preference panes from opening in System Preferences
    • Fixes an issue that may prevent migration from completing while in Setup Assistant

    Overall, this is a must have update for your Mac, so goahead and visit App StoreUpdates section to update your OS X Mavericks to 10.9.2. This update brings overall stability improvements, performance improvements and security to Macbook, iMac and Mac mini. If you have not updated to OS X Mavericks yet, then this is the correct time to do that in order to secure your mac from hackers if you use it in public wireless networks.
