Solution: If you have installed Chromium browser on your Linux machine, then you should goahead and download Google Chrome browser from official website selecting the correct version to make whatsapp web work for you.

The latest tech news is WhatsApp Web Messenger is now available and you can chat with your whatsapp friends and groups on your computer. Being one of the popular messaging app available for most of the mobile os platform, whatsapp released a web chat client very late with feature limitation. It feels like an alpha stage application that works only with Google Chrome Web browser right now and don’t support other popular browsers like Firefox, Opera and native browsers like Internet Explorer and Safari on Mac OS X computers.

If you are a linux user, especially Ubuntu user then you might have downloaded Chromium from Ubuntu Software Center a while ago. Chromium is not supported by WhatsApp Web right now, so you have to download the latest google chrome version from the official website. Also, make sure you have updated the WhatsApp on your android smartphone.
