Why Face ID with Mask Not Working in my iPhone? Apple released iOS 15.4 with the most expected feature, Face ID with Mask Unlock feature for iPhone 12 and above models. iPhone 11, iPhone XR, XS and X models will not support Face ID with Mask Unlock feature. After updating to latest iOS 15.4. You will get all other Features, Changes and Bug Fixes.

Why Face ID with Mask Unlock is Not Working in iPhone?

Apple don’t have clear information about why iPhone 11, XR, XS and X models with Face ID, don’t have Face ID with Mask Unlock feature enabled. Reason could be, iPhone 12 and above models have 16 core neural engine, where as in iPhone 11 and below models we have 8 core neural engine. It is responsible for transforming the depth map and infrared image into a mathematical representation to compare and authenticate successfully with the facial data stored in secure enclave.

This could be the reason, Why Face ID with Mask Unlock feature is not working or not available in iPhone 11 and below models.
