iOS 17.4 Battery Drain Fix for iPhone

Not all users experience battery drains, but some users do. I have tried iOS 17.4 Battery Drain fixes on my iPhone and am seeing good results. So, thought to share them here with you. After the iOS 17.4 update, I noticed a fast battery drain on my iPhone 15 Plus. Normally I get 1.5 days backup to reach 20% level.

Even though my usage has increased recently, I expected to get through one day and the next morning to reach that 20% level to charge my iPhone.

A few users have reported battery drains after installing the latest iOS update. Fortunately, there are several steps you can take to address this issue and improve your iPhone’s battery life.

Switch 5G to LTE on iPhone

Temporarily, Switch to LTE if you are using a 5G network. While 5G offers faster data speeds, it can consume more power than LTE. If you’ve been experiencing rapid battery drain, try temporarily switching from 5G to LTE.

You can do this by going to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options and selecting LTE. After making this adjustment, I have noticed a reduction in the fast battery drain, so it’s worth trying.

Take Control of Background App Refresh

Background App Refresh is a feature that allows apps to update content in the background even when you’re not using them actively.

While this can be convenient, it can also contribute to battery drain, especially if many apps run in the background. To conserve battery life, consider turning off Background App Refresh for apps you don’t need to update constantly.

You can do this by going to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and toggling off the feature for specific apps. Alternatively, you may choose to disable Background App Refresh entirely.

Turn Off SIRI and Suggestions

Siri Suggestions is another feature that can drain your iPhone’s battery unnecessarily. By default, Siri Suggestions provides personalized suggestions based on your usage patterns, but this constant monitoring can consume battery power.
