In order to run an online business, you need to target your customers in multiple ways. In many situations, online marketing alone is not sufficient. Offline marketing is therefore, a very useful tool to market your blog effectively to a larger audience. In fact, it can prove to be a better alternative than Internet marketing as it focuses on prospective customers busy in their offline tasks. You can also find a major increase in your sales and profits by using offline marketing.
Depending upon the type of target audience, you can adopt numerous ways of offline marketing. For instance, if you want to market your blog on fashion, you may choose to promote it through an ad on fashion page of Sunday newspaper, an ad on a famous fashion magazine or publicity through a television ad on any entertainment/fashion channel.
In order to carry out successful offline marketing of your blog, following methods can prove to be beneficial:
Table of Contents
Use Direct Mail
It is an effective tool to find appropriate customers for your business. You can simply get long lasting buyers who are able to fulfill your business goals.
Brochures are Effective
A well designed flyer or brochure is a great medium to serve the purpose. They should contain relevant information of your website as well as your social media links. Your name, your phone number and email address can also be beneficial if anyone wants to contact you. You should be careful in distributing these brochures as they should reach the targeted niche in order to serve the purpose.
Business Cards
Business cards are also an impressive way to promote your blog offline. You may find many interested people just roaming by. You can also make special visits to any officials that might be interested in your blog and drop your business card over there.
Event Sponsorship
Sponsoring any related event is also a very useful way. For instance, a sports related blog can sponsor a cricket match. It will not only help to reach the targeted niche but will also increase credibility of your blog.
Give Away Items
Any free give away items like key chains, mugs, CD, USB Storage Drives etc can be beneficial to attract the niche. First of all, they should be within the budget and secondly they should contain all the relevant information needed to promote your blog.
These give away items can be distributed as gifts at the end of your sponsored event to serve dual purposes in your publicity campaign.
Meeting Fellow Bloggers
Developing business terms with your fellow bloggers is a useful technique. Attending meetings and taking parts in useful discussions will help you to think broadly and develop individual brand identity.
Thus, through effective offline marketing strategies, you can fulfill your targets more rapidly. You can also choose a mix of these mediums to be more effective. The purpose is solely to convince your audience to visit your blog. Greater number of visits to your blog will ultimately prove the effectiveness of your offline marketing techniques.
I have tried Giveaways and sponsorship. I dont think I would try Brochures for my simple blog. Email seem to be most effective tool.
hmm.. But an effective email subject and content is necessary to let people click and read the contents of it and avoid clicking on unsubscribe button or mark it as spam 🙂 Cheers and thanks for your comment bro.
Robin.
Hi Robin. Great post. Very few have addressed this topic so well done. To be honest with you, many of us think blogs can only be promoted online, and lose out on a whole other sector of promotion and growth.
