Android Gingerbread ROM for Galaxy S

2010 is almost the year of Tablets and Android OS powered devices. Samsung Galaxy S is one of the successful model which has the complete smart phone features that one need for its price. Excellent touch sensitivity and super amoled screen with 1 GHz processor adds more performance to the phone. However, Samsung Galaxy S is powered by Android 2.2 (Froyo) and users been waiting for an official announcement from Samsung team about Gingerbread update.

Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) has more features than 2.2 with performance and resource management as top priority. In a recent conference samsung made an announcement about the official release of Android Gingerbread OS to Samsung Galaxy S scheduled this march 2011.

Polish Android forum member has posted a download link for Android Gingerbread ROM for Galaxy S.

HTC has announced upgrade of Android Gingerbread for its series of phones HTC Desire, Desire Z, Desire HD and Incredible S Smart phones would be released in the second quarter of 2011. Froyo devices are so hungry to meet Gingerbread which will take atleast several months.

Between, the Android Gingerbread upgrade for Galaxy S is expected to replace the existing file system RFS to EXT4, to improve the performance overall.
