We’re almost there. Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17 models on September 9, with sales around September 19 if the usual schedule holds. This year’s iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models look like a meaningful upgrade.
It’s not just a spec bump, but good hardware upgrades are coming if the leaks are true.

iPhone 17 Pro Release Date & Leaks
No official confirmation, but based on previous iPhone releases, we can expect iPhone 17 Pro Release date to be around 9th September 2025. After 10 days since announcement, apple starts selling the iPhone at shops.
People who pre-ordered their iPhones also starts receiving their iPhone’s around 19th September.

iPhone 17 Pro Design & Colors
The iPhone 17 Pro model is rumored to switch to an aluminum frame with a new camera bump layout. Think cleaner lines and a look that’s closer to what we’ve seen on recent Pixel phones.
Colors may include Sky Blue, Teal-ish Titanium, and darker tones.
There’s also talk of a single multi-function button replacing separate volume and Action buttons, which could simplify controls. I don’t think Apple will go wild this year with iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max Design.

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max Cameras
The headline is zoom. Multiple reports point to a 48MP telephoto lens (up from 12MP) and rumors of up to 8x optical reach on the Pro and it’s clear Apple is pushing long-range detail.
Periscope Lens design may finally come to iPhone. This year with 17 Pro models, we most likely will see Periscope camera system for smooth zoom in and zoom out with DSLR like image quality.

Don’t forget Apple’s Neural Engine upgrades that are going to arrive with A19 Pro Chipset.
A sharper 24MP selfie camera is also on the cards. If you shoot video, 8K capture is being discussed too.
Most likely, Apple keeps image quality as the focus rather than chasing extreme specs.
Pro Performance and Thermal Improvements
Inside, we anticipate an A19 Pro chip with better efficiency and higher sustained performance. Early “leaks” of wild benchmark scores have already been called out as fake.

The 17 Pro should ship with iOS 26. Expect a cleaner UI, streamlined stock apps, and tighter Apple Intelligence features.
Nothing flashy for the sake of it, and more like small, helpful changes across the system.

iPhone 17 Pro Pricing and Availability
Prices may tick up a bit compared to iPhone 16 Pro. Trump’s Tariffs are the one to be blamed here if there is no exceptions made to Imported iPhone units. Also there are rumors that apple may increase $50 compared to last year iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max pricing in U.S.
Otherwise, it will remain same.
Base storage could start higher this year, which softens the blow if true. Either way, pre-orders should follow the event that same week.
