The iPhone 17 Air could be the biggest design change we have seen in years. Apple is planning to release this new iPhone in 2025.

Sadly, It may replace the iPhone 17 Plus model. I personally like Plus models for its bigger display and battery. 60Hz display was manageable and iPhone 17, 17 Air leaks suggesting that all models will get 120Hz display upgrade, Plus model would have been a killer device this year.

The iPhone 16 Plus could be the last Plus model we get. 🙁

iPhone 17 Air Design Leaks

The iPhone 17 Air will focus on a slim and lightweight design. Apple already makes slim iPads with the “Air” name. It looks like the iPhone is finally getting the same treatment.

If you are thinking about buying a Plus model, it might be smart to wait.

iPhone 17 Air Will Be Super Thin

Leaks suggest the iPhone 17 Air will be the slimmest iPhone ever. Initial rumors claimed that apple could call it iPhone Slim. Yes, It was a weird name choice is what we all thought.

But then, more iPhone 17 Leaks arrived which made it clear, that this model will be named as iPhone 17 Air. Some reports say it could be around 5 to 5.5 mm thickness. This will make it much thinner than any iPhone before.

The phone will have an aluminum frame to keep it light. Apple could also shrink the Dynamic Island and make the bezels even smaller. So, the front will look clean and modern.

Apple may use a new battery design that takes up less space. This could help them keep the phone thin without making battery life worse.

Latest iPhone 17 Air Leaks claim, that apple decided to keep 2800 mAh battery capacity. After iPhone 12, we are going to get under 3000 mAh iPhone once again, but in 2025. as per recent reddit discussion.

It’s the price we pay when we needed a thinnest iPhone.

A19 Chip and Better Performance

The iPhone 17 Air is rumored to come with the A19 chip. This means faster speeds and smoother use every day. Whether you play games or just scroll social media, everything will feel quicker.

This iPhone Air could also come with 8GB RAM, making it compatible to run Apple Intelligence.

Storage could start at 256GB and go up to 1TB for people who need more space.

Even though it’s not a Pro model, the iPhone 17 Air may get a 48MP main camera. It could also have a 24MP front camera. Selfies and videos will look sharper.

iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch OLED screen, 120Hz ProMotion, which means smoother scrolling across the system.

Apple is expected to release the iPhone 17 Air in September Event. Latest Leaks suggest apple could conduct the event around 8th September 2025 to release iPhone 17 models. Pre-orders usually open one week after the launch event.

The iPhone 17 Air could be a great choice if you want a thin, light iPhone but don’t need Pro features.
