Only 2 hour’s before wordpress have released the version 2.8 which was in beta stage. The great news for wordpress users. However the problem is, many existing plugins are not working with the wordpress 2.8 . So if you use some good amount of plugins in your blog then it is advisable to upgrade it later.

As plugin browser in WordPress 2.7 made the installation of plugins easier the team have developed the Theme Browser. Previewing and Installing a theme never made this much easier. WordPress bloggers can preview the theme within their Dashboard itself using the Theme Browser without visiting wordpress.org for theme selection. In few clicks the theme will be installed and it will be ready for the visitors. No more FTP updates for theme installation too.
Syntax Highlighting:
Beginners in PHP can now edit safely with the syntax highlighter feature available in wordpress 2.8 .

WP 2.8 gives more widget control to manage and use widgets.
Improved Screen Options:
More improved screen options than WP 2.7. Setting up how mange columns should be displayed and interesting screen navigation options added.

Actually wordpress offers free blog via wordpress.com and it seems you have registered your site there too.
And they have huge number of user base. Do you think its possible to provide every user a free domain worth 8$ ?
