iPhone 4K 60FPS Disabled or Not Working? How to Fix?

Unable to switch to 4K 60fps in iPhone Camera? Is 4K at 60FPS setting Disabled by default? Don’t worry. You can turn this feature ON simply by following the steps in this article. Few of my friends faced this problem, their iPhone camera was unable to switch 4K 60 FPS.

Only iPhone 8 and above models are capable of recording 4k 60 FPS video, so if you are using below the model iPhone 8 you are unable to record videos in 4K 60 FPS using the default camera App.

But, if you are using the above models, here we have a solution to fix the problem, without further delay, Let’s Dive into the Steps you need to follow, to enable 4K 60fps in iPhone camera app.

Step 1: Open Settings

Step 2: Navigate to “Camera” Settings.

Step 3: Go to “Record Video” option.

Step 4: Select 4K 60fps available as the last option.

Now go to your iPhone camera app and tap on the top right corner to change it to 4K 60fps recording. If you can change it, you are good to go. Start shooting stunning video footages using your iPhone Camera in 4K 60fps.

Only if you still have problem, and unable to switch iPhone camera to 4K 60 fps, then follow the next step.

Step 5: Go to “Settings – Camera – Record Video” page, and find “HDR Video” option.

Make sure its enabled. Then go back to iPhone Camera App and select 4K 60fps. This should work now. In latest iPhone models, it does require HDR (High Efficiency) format to be enabled, in order to record 4K video.

Remember, the video output will not be regular .mov file format. When you record using 4K 60fps, the video file will be .HEVC. Most of the video players now a days supports this apple format, but if you have trouble playing the video file, then you can use any compatible video player software.
