Based on trusted source leaks, especially from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, we now know what to expect from Apple’s roadmap for its next silicon leap.

M5 MacBook Pro Coming Soon

Apple will likely update the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the new M5 chip first. Don’t expect a new design this time. The focus will be on the internal performance boost from the M5 processor.

The current M4 MacBook Pros already pack a punch for demanding tasks. As we know, Apple improves performance with each chip generation.

While we don’t have specific numbers for the M5 yet, Apple typically aims for better CPU and GPU power, plus improved efficiency.

The jump from M4 to M5 should continue this trend, making these machines even more powerful for professionals.

M5 iPad Pro Release

The leaks also show the iPad Pro lineup will receive the M5 chip in this first rollout. This continues Apple’s strategy of putting desktop-class processors in its top tablet, blurring the lines between tablets and traditional computers even more.

iPad 11th Generation recently released is sufficient for most users.

However, if you need that 120Hz ProMotion Display and better Speakers, then iPad Pro is the one to get. Ofcourse, You will get the latest processor with iPad Pro models each year.

An M5 chip in the iPad Pro would make it the most powerful tablet available, offering great performance for creative work, complex apps, and high-end gaming. Like the MacBook Pro, the focus will be on internal upgrades using the M5’s power.

About the M5 Chip

While Apple hasn’t announced anything officially, the M5 chip will likely use an even more advanced manufacturing process, possibly TSMC’s next-gen node (maybe enhanced 3nm or moving toward 2nm).

This usually means more transistors in the same space, giving better performance and improved power efficiency – more speed and potentially longer battery life.

We anticipate another solid leap in processing power, important for demanding software and AI features.

Release Timeline and Other M5 Devices

The reports suggest a launch “later this year.” Apple usually prefers fall (October/November) for major Mac and iPad updates. So, we might see these new M5 models then, though timelines can change.

Apple Intelligence, LLMs and Students who are planning to get New Macbook Pro’s may wait for M5 Pro Chipset Which I believe, Apple will reveal along with M5 release. M5 Max chip may be delayed till mid of 2026.

For other Macs, Apple typically staggers the rollout of new chips. We can expect M5 versions of the MacBook Air, iMac, and Mac mini to follow, probably sometime in 2026.

The M5 era looks set to begin later in 2025, starting with Apple’s Pro-level machines.

If you need the latest performance, waiting a few more months could be worth it. Will share any further M5 Leaks and News updates as soon as they are available. Have a wonderful day.
